While many reality TV stars fade into oblivion after their 15-minutes of fame end (does anyone even remember I’m From Rolling Stone?), Miss Seventeen winner, Jen Steele, has managed to advance her career without relying on cheesy spin-offs or reunion specials. The 23-year-old University of Wisconsin grad overcame a difficult past (both of her parents spent time in jail) to land a fashion assistant job in New York, and has since used her status to speak out against teen drug use. When we saw Jen dishing on her love for fashion (and high-waisted jeans!) in the popular Alpha Kitty video series on YouTube, we knew ELLEgirl readers would appreciate her musings on personal style and what it means to work towards your dreams.
